Joseph Daniels started in the roofing and waterproofing consulting business in 1987. He worked in a Southern California firm for over 5 years, until 1993 when he cofounded D 7 CONSULTING INC.

Joe’s experience in remodel construction in his early years along with several years of Architectural schooling at UC Irvine, Saddleback College and the University of Wisconsin – Madison have all helped him develop his abilities in the building envelope field of consulting. Over the past 20 years, he has continued to expand his knowledge and expertise by attending classes at the Roof Consultants Institute, UW Madison College of Engineering specific to his field of work.

Joe has had several articles published in Western Roofing magazine and RCI Interface and is an active member in RCI SoCal Chapter as past president and board member. While overseeing over 150 projects each year along with managing his own specific projects, Joe ensures that each of the 5 other consultants, over 15 Quality Assurance Observers and Administrative staff are expertly trained in all facets of the building envelope field with monthly training seminars and hands on training.

D 7 has been involved in or designed projects such as the Grand Californian Hotel; Disney Concert Hall; LA Live Entertainment Center; Beverly Hilton Hotel and DreamWorks Animation Campus to name a few. While building the projects involves a great deal of effort, maintaining the properties is as critical. D 7 has reviewed, managed or otherwise been involved with existing facilities totaling over 20 million square feet, in the past 16 years. This involved assessment of the current conditions, specifying new materials and projecting life cycle costs for budgetary information. All of which are of extreme valuable to the building owner or manager.

Joe’s son, Jaren plays baseball year round and is becoming a golfer as well. His wife Janick is involved in the day to day operations of D 7 and they have been married since 1985. Joe loves to play golf and has worked for NBC Sports at the US Open, Ryder Cup matches and Presidents Cup matches over the past 8 years. He is an avid Green Bay Packer fan and attends games each year. Joe also loves to travel to new destinations each year to see the world, as well as visiting family in Wisconsin.
