Avenue of the Stars -- Century City, CA

Avenue of the Stars was constructed over the original parking garage that serves the Century Plaza Towers.  The deck or roof of the garage required new waterproofing prior to the construction of the building and Great Lawn.  A hot rubberized asphalt waterproofing was used over the entire “plaza” of the project.

As the building was constructed Expansion joints were necessary to tie existing construction to the new building.  Modified Bitumen roofing was used as well as Elastomeric Coating on the Helipad.

The main tenant for the building is Creative Artists Agency who had their own raised plaza constructed with water features and entertainment space.  The Great Lawn connects the two projects and allows for the now famous “hole in the building” to be viewed while walking up to the entrance.  A great design by Gensler Architects, constructed by Hathaway Dinwiddie for the Trammel Crow Company.  D 7 provided Design, Construction Administration and Quality Assurance throughout the entire project.
