LA Live -- Los Angeles, CA

What is now considered the “Entertainment Center” of downtown Los Angeles, LA Live has sprung up next to Staples Center and the LA Convention Center to form a city block of excitement.  Next to the Nokia Plaza and Theater, the LA Live Hotel and Residences are connected to the new Regal Cinemas and Convention Center space to form a fabulous experience for all those that travel there.

AEG pulled out all the stops including building a Ritz Carlton and Marriott on the property to bring guests and residents to the fast paced location.  The project enlisted the services of three (3) general contractors.  Clark Construction (Nokia Theater; Buildings A & B; Nokia Plaza), Webcor Construction (Hotel & Residence) and PCL (Regal Cinema & Convention Center) all worked diligently to complete their portions of the project.  In charge of Design were RTKL (Nokia Theater; Buildings A & B), Rios Clemente Hale (Nokia Plaza), and GENSLER (Hotel & Residences/Regal Cinema & Convention Center).

As you can imagine, the task of putting all these players together, combined with all the individual subcontractors related to roofing and waterproofing was immense.  D 7 met the challenge and provided Design, Construction Administration along with Quality Assurance Observation throughout the entire project.  A few of the systems that were utilized on the project include:  Below grade waterproofing, Hot Rubberized asphalt for Plaza deck, pool decks and planters, Air Barrier for the exterior skin behind stone, PVC Single Ply roofing and elastomeric coatings for mechanical rooms and Helipad.  This project was truly a team effort.
